The demand for water-based coatings for both in-line and off-line applications is on the rise, driven by the need for superior surface finishing in packaging. Additionally, special effect coatings such as gloss matte, drip-off, and heat seal blister emulsions are available to meet specific packaging requirements.

Various types of inks are used for different printing applications. Conventional quickset inks are employed in sheetfed offset presses. Low Migration (LM) inks are specifically formulated for sensitive food packaging and are recommended by EuPIA (European Printing Ink Association) for packaging containing sensitive food or primary packaging without functional barriers. Heatset inks find their use in commercial printing, while coldset inks are primarily utilized in newspaper printing processes.
